Our Festival › Performers & Dancers

We welcome you to our and your World Festival!

Amazing performances take place from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM on June 17, 18 and 19, 2011 on the ‘World Stage’ against the U.S. Capitol. Please arrive at the World Stage area at least 30-minutes before your performance. Check the schedule to see when you will perform. Remember to be relaxed when you step onto the World Stage. We are with you. And we know it can be exciting and scary at the same time.

You should drop off your equipment on 4th Street NW of The National Mall (behind the World Stage). Then go park your car so they don’t tow or ticket it. If you want to change your sweaty T-shirt, there’s a Green Room for you beside the World Stage. Please make sure you don’t wear someone else’s attire. Be quick, quiet and courteous when you are setting up on the World Stage or taking down your equipment.

The World Stage is 40x40-foot, which is quite large. You have a 4-speaker audio system with 1 full range concert speaker and 1 sub-woofer, 3 monitors, 24+4 channel mixer, CD/cassette playback unit, Mid-size mic complement, Wireless microphones as well.

The festival opens each day with an Opening Ceremony, which is choreographed. Come join us at 10:00 AM each day and stay with us until the festival ends. You will have great fun and learn a lot. We promise.

We have several large tents where exciting activities take place. You can make art, learn math, or even discover your family pedigree if you care to. Eminent educators and field experts ranging from Olympians and professional artists to scientists and technologists provide training to nurture our creativity and develop our empathy. You can’t miss that, can you?

Dress casually and bring along personal necessities like drinking water bottles, sunscreen, and shades, etc. You know best what you will need during the festival under the hot sun. You may like to take lunch in one of the Smithsonian Museums. Do hurry back so you don’t miss anything exciting and then regret it.

To honor your talent and contribution at this historic and important global event, you will receive a performance at the WCF Certificate as well. To make sure you have this to hang on your bare wall, email your name and name of your band, troupe, or group to wcf2011@gmail.com before Monday, June 6th. Don’t forget, or no certificate.

Come join us at the World Children’s Award Banquet on Sunday, June 19th from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM at The Grand Ballroom of L’Enfant Plaza Hotel, which is near the National Mall. Sorry, unlike the Festival, the banquet is not free. But if you’re younger than six and can prove it, we won’t charge you, otherwise you pay $100 but we have to charge your parent, guardian or whomever will be with you, $100 per person.

Do let is know if you will attend the Banquet and with whom. If you are planning to attend the Banquet we strongly recommend that your group reserve your place and pay before Monday, June 6th. For tickets, please email wcf2011@gmail.com.
