Our Festival › Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs is for frequently asked questions. If we have not guessed your question, you can email it to us at wcf@icaf.org.

Is there a fee for the WCF 2013?

No, it’s free! The International Child Art Foundation must pay the expense, so please come with a donation. We take checks or cash. Please be generous.

How many days or workshops can I attend?

You can attend all three days and as many workshops, activities or performances you wish.

Do I need to sign up or register?

No registration is required. You can help us better plan the WCF if you email us about your participation. Let us know how many kids and grownups are in your group, their ages, and which workshops and activities you plan to attend. This way we can make sure that the supplies you need are there for you.

What kind of weather can I expect in the D.C. metro area in June?

We are hoping for great weather. If it rains, then we run inside the tents or we can catch an exhibition for a short while at one of the Smithsonian museums. In June in Washington, D.C. the average precipitation is about 3.6 inches; that’s 9.2 cm.

Average high for June in Washington is 84 degrees Fahrenheit (29°C) and average low is 64 degrees Fahrenheit (18°C). Bring your sunscreen. It’s global warming, remember. The ozone layer is thin. For current weather conditions, please visit the Weather Channel.

What is the dress code?

On The National Mall you should wear old casual clothes which might get messy with paint. We’ll wear sneakers and shades.

At the World Children’s Award Banquet everyone wears their national dress.

Are there any special lodging rates for participants?

Most of the delegates stay at L’Enfant Plaza Hotel in Washington DC. The Awards Banquet will also be held there. Some international delegates stay with host families. You can find a hotel that is close to The National Mall (4th to 7th Streets NW). If you need help, please email us.
